This is based largely on owning nearly 1,000 manufacturing and logistics facilities in several states for oil and gas, timber and renewable energy. Our founders family history in Louisiana began when the widow (Mary) of the progenitor David Williams married Ohio governor Winthrop Sargent in the late 1700s.
Sargent owned several million acres of properties in Ohio. He left the bulk to his widow Mary who in turn passed the bulk to her children by first marriage to David Williams in 1786. Various properties in Ohio have been passed down and expanded by the Williams over the generations. Today, the bulk is owned by the Anton R. Williams Trust.
